Oh, now it's working.  Keen.

Anyway, I was wondering if there's anything set up to transfer an existing blog to mee.nu.  (I'm at Blogspot, but I regret it.)

Thanks!

2 I'm testing the import function at the moment - I'll be using it to transfer the mu.nu blogs across.  It also works for Blogspot; you export the blog from Blogspot and then import into mee.nu.

I'm still ironing out a few wrinkles with this function, but it's pretty close, so you can expect to see it in about a week's time.

3 And that's a great question for the FAQ.

Thanks!  I didn't see it anywhere, but it's possible I missed it.

5 For those of us who whitelist site cookies, which ones do we need to have enabled for mee.nu to work properly?

(I presently have mee.nu, unme.mee.nu, and oldgrouch.mee.nu listed, but I note that while the comments editor for mee.nu remembers my name and email, it doesn't rememember my blog (web .)

6 I'll check on that.  It should work if you only allow cookies from mee.nu itself, but I haven't tested it.

7 I wonder if someone could tell me how to change the password on my mee.nu account.  Can't seem to find the handle on that one.

8 Ah.  That would be because I haven't put that function in yet. ops:

9 This is probably so obvious that I'm missing it entirely, but is there a way to register to post comments on other mee.nu blogs without needing to establish a site? Is there some extra activation step that I don't need to take? Attempting to leave the website-related entries blank didn't work.

12 Pixy, I know you're swamped, but it would greatly help to have a GETTING STARTED page that really does gear down to techno-duds like myself. This geekspeak is driving me crazy, and it's tough trying to even navigate to where something is supposedly located. I'm lost here.

13 Could you make the new site more printer-friendly? If I try to print a page, the entire right side gets cut off; if I try to copy and paste the text (from IE to MS Word), indented (i.e. quoted) paragraphs show up looking just like normal ones. (With the old site, quoted stuff would show up shaded.)

OK, probably a dumb question, but I can't seem to change the name of my site. I've got a site here called Forty-Two. But the heading on the top is different--I originally called it something different, and can't change it back. What happened? Am I missing something really basic?

15 Ok, here's a real lunkheaded question, how do I go about granting posting rights on my blog to a friend of mine?  I'd like for two or three people to be able to contribute to my blog without having to log in as me, is this possible?  Any and all information would be appreciated.

16 Any way to password the whole site - in other words - make it private?

17 Sorry, but I have an import question related to the one above - I have a site on wordpress, which I started before the site failures started.  I'd like to use this blog as a constant back-up/failsafe, so is there a way to automatically import every post, or should I just do it manually every couple of weeks?

When I copy the link to an entry, then paste it in a browser window, the screen always jumps down to the comments on that entry's page.

Is there a way to get the entry to display at the top of the page?

20 What's the point of having a site hosted at mee.nu, if you guys are not being indexed on Google? Any comment?

Posted by: LinuxLies at July 04, 2012 03:06 PM (aU+OR)

21 That's a very good question.  Other mee.nu sites are being indexed by Google; I'll try to find out why that's not working for you and get it fixed.

Posted by: Pixy Misa at July 06, 2012 06:32 AM (PiXy!)

22 I'll add a Google verification tag to your site's template.  That should fix the problem.

Posted by: Pixy Misa at July 06, 2012 06:35 AM (PiXy!)

23 Done.  I also fixed the banner for your site; it doesn't automatically adjust.

Posted by: Pixy Misa at July 06, 2012 06:52 AM (PiXy!)

24 Thanks, that worked. LinuxLies is now indexed. Appreciate your help!
